ABOUT DR. WILBORN
Dr. Tammy Lewis Wilborn is a Board-Certified Licensed Professional Counselor and Board Approved Clinical Supervisor. She is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Counseling at the University of New Orleans and Owner and Chief Clinical Officer of Wilborn Clinical Services, a multi-service practice based in New Orleans, Louisiana that provides clinical mental health counseling, clinical supervision, training and facilitation, consultation and wellness coaching. Dr. Wilborn has 15+ years of clinical experience working with a diverse clientele of children, adolescents, and adults. She is an in-demand speaker who has presented extensively on cultural diversity, women’s empowerment, mental health, and wellness to national, regional, state, and local organizations and professional associations. In 2016, Dr. Wilborn founded the annual Black Women’s Wellness Conference, an annual wellness conference held in New Orleans, LA to promote mental health and well-being in Black women.
Dr. Wilborn is a multimedia wellness expert who has contributed to The Times-Picayune, Wbtv.com, WBOK 1230 AM, and the Dr. Jeff Show with “America’s Psychologist” Dr. Jeffrey Gardere. She is an executive producer on Things with Feathers (2017), a short film about childhood sexual abuse (CSA) that seeks to break the silence and stigma around CSA which won first prize at the Shreveport Urban Film Festival. A leader in her field, Dr. Wilborn was named an Emerging Leader in 2016 by the Southern Association of Counselor Education and Supervision and is the President for the Louisiana Association for Counselor Education and Supervision.
Dr. Wilborn earned her PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and her B.A. in Psychology and M.S. in Counseling from Loyola University of New Orleans.
